Contact Information

There are several ways to get in touch with me while I'm in Antarctica. The best is definitely email, and my address is: kisner at physics dot ucsb dot edu. If you'd like me to call you, send me email and we can set up a time. It's easy for me to call out of Antarctica, but difficult to call me down here (see emergency info at bottom).

It's also possible to send me regular mail- and it's always appreciated... One note is that while flat mail (letters) will get through quickly, packages arrive very slowly. Packages should not contain any styrofoam packing peanuts (they are an environmental hazard, and are banned from Antarctica). Also, it's probably not a good idea to send perishable items (sorry Dad, I really did want some cookies). My postal address is

Ted Kisner
McMurdo Station

In the event of an emergency, you can in theory get in touch with me in the following way: Call the Office of Polar Programs in Washington, D.C. at (703) 292-8032. Follow the directions of the operator or answering machine. Eventually you'll get in touch with someone at McMurdo, who will then try to find me.
